Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy was a huge part of our community up until its closing in 2025.

Since 1909 the school, which has had several transitions, taught many of our ancestors. It started as a Catholic school for boys and eventually transformed into a military school.

My dad, Bob Combs, the one with the biggest ears and chin dimple, attended there, as did his brothers and friends. He once told me they all took shifts patrolling the grounds and looking to the skies to spot enemy planes…I think they were looking for the Russians (someone with better history knowledge than me should comment on that below)

All this memorabilia is currently on display in our taproom, on loan from a local Leonard Hall historian. Not only does it fit the vintage vibe of the taproom but it ties us back to those who long before us strove to make St Marys County MD an amazing place to live, own businesses and raise families.

Come and raise a glass to the greats before us!

We are now open:

Thursday 3-9

Friday & Saturday 12-10
